KUALA LUMPUR – Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth will launch the 1Malaysia Tour Programme (JOM) in an effort to get closer to the people including in Sabah and Sarawak.
Its chief, Khairy Jamaluddin said the programme would be launched at the the 1Malaysia Rally in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will launch a bus, which will be used to ferry BN Youth leaders in the tour, during the rally, Khairy told Bernama at the Parliament lobby here Tuesday.
He said other means of transportation would be used in Sabah and Sarawak due to rough terrain and waterways in rural areas in both states.
Khairy said the tour was aimed at going down to the grassroots to meet youths as part of the preparation for the next general election.
MCA Youth chief Datuk Wee Ka Siong and MIC Youth chief T. Mohan were present.
