KJ celebrates son's birthday in isolation as a precaution

PETALING JAYA: Following the movement control order (MCO) triggered by the Covid-19 outbreak, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has decided to celebrate the fifth birthday of his son in self-isolation.

According to Khairy, this was necessary due to the nature of his work as a minister, as he is required to work throughout the two weeks of the MCO.
"Happy fifth birthday, my little lion man. Because Papa has to go out for work, Papa has decided to self-isolate when coming home.
"That's to keep you and everyone else safe (especially grandma!)," he said in an Instagram post on Monday (March 23), which received over 91,000 likes.
"It makes Papa sad that I can't hug you and kiss you today, and that we can only see each other through the window. When you grow up, I'll tell you all about how everyone in the world had to play their part to help each other. Love you, my Raif," he added.
Khairy's Instagram post drew positive remarks from netizens, who praised him for setting an example as a role model in complying with the two-week MCO period.
The Johor Crown Prince Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim also dropped a positive comment on Khairy's posting.
"Happy Birthday to the Little Man YB. May ALLAH Bless you and your family. Best wishes," said Tunku Ismail.
